About the Artist - Rachel David

Rachel was born in Guernsey and is still under the influence of its clear light and bright colours. She started to take painting seriously following early retirement from a career in speech and language therapy. She works in a wide range of media, the choice of which is determined by her subject matter and mood. She enjoys constructing and exploring the picture surface in terms of colour, shape and textural design. She hopes that her paintings will convey her own sense of excitement about what might be regarded as everyday subject matter.
