About the Artist - Keith Ripley

Started watercolour painting in 2001 when he joined the SCSA and since then has exhibited regularly at their exhibitions, winning awards for best portrait, best watercolour and best animal painting. Regularly exhibits at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists 'Friends' and 'Open' exhibitions, Midland Arts Centre and at the 'Leisure Painter' Patchings Art Festival, where he won the David & Charles award in 2005, the Patchings award in 2006, and Anova book award in 2007. Solo exhibition at Highbury Little Theatre.

Portraits are an abiding interest and he is never happier than when painting a likeness of an interesting face. He also paints in acrylics, oils and pastels.
